Our Story

Omaha Bay Vineyard is the vision of Hegman and Bev Foster, a family owned boutique Vineyard and Winery, located in the Matakana wine region, one hour north of Auckland City, overlooking Omaha Bay and Little Barrier Island.

Little Barrier Island is one of New Zealand’s most valuable nature reserves. Its Maori name Hauturu means ‘resting place of the winds’.

Passionate fourth generation wine growers in New Zealand, we use sustainable viticulture practices and produce premium quality wines that are distinctive, stylish and hand crafted to the highest standards.

Our tasting room and cellar door is open Wednesday to Sunday during summer and Friday to Sunday in winter, for wine tasting and platters. Come and enjoy our wines, and of course the stunning coastal view. You can be sure of a warm welcome.
